Welcome to St Andrew's Church
We warmly welcome everyone to St Andrew's - young or old, lifelong church-goer or a first-time visitor. We especially welcome families, and there is an area with comfortable seating, books and activities for young ones. There is no dress code for coming to church. Casual clothes are fine, and hats are not required!
If you think you'd like to come along to a service, here's what you can expect....
What happens at our services?
8am Early Communion Service
This is a said service of Holy Communion (no hymns) which takes place in the old end of the church and lasts about 45 minutes. There are readings, a psalm, prayers, a short sermon and Holy Communion.
9.15am Sunday Praise
This is an informal 45 minute service offering something for all ages. It is less traditional than the other services, drawing on newer worship music, theme-based talks, with a Messy Church style weaved in.
10.30am Parish Communion
This is similar to the 8am service, but includes hymns, and takes place in the new end of church for about an hour.
10.30am Morning Worship
This is a service of the word - with hymns, prayers and a sermon but not Holy Communion, and takes place in the new end of church..
The 8am service is followed by a light breakfast, while the 9.15 and 10.30 services are followed by coffee and pastries/biscuits. You are warmly invited to stay for refreshments or to come for refreshments and then stay for the next service.
